Email marketing 'keeps a company in customers' minds'
Mar 2 2010, 21:48 PM
Email marketing is an important tool in ensuring a company remain relevant to past customers, it has been suggested.
Writing a blog entry for Entrepreneur.com, Rosalind Resnick, a businesswoman at Axxess Business Consulting, said small businesses can expect to increase their sales volumes once they increase their marketing efforts.
She added that in her opinion email marketing is more effective than the use of social media sites when it comes to attracting consumers' attention.
"With all due respect to Twitter, Facebook and all the other social media sites, there's nothing like a monthly email newsletter blast to remind your existing customers that you're still in business," Ms Resnick stated.
Last week, industry commentator Jenna Weiner wrote on the Overnight Prints website that all email marketing messages must be relevant to the person who receives the communication.
She stated that campaigns that do not invest in research into consumer preferences and behavioural information are unlikely to deliver high returns on investment.
