Email marketing professionals 'needed in New Zealand'
Mar 8 2010, 22:01 PM
Email marketing, combined with other online advertising channels, is growing in popularity in New Zealand, a recruitment specialist has suggested.
Annabelle Klap, IT recruitment division manager for Robert Walters New Zealand, said that more companies are seeking email marketing professionals to work in their organisation.
"As businesses increase their exposure online, more web specialists are needed," she told Computerworld New Zealand.
Ms Clap added that companies want staff "who are looking at the marketing side of the web, but who also have a technical understanding of it".
She stated that the last year has seen noticeable growth in businesses using the internet for advertising activities such as email marketing.
Earlier this month, industry commentator Lucy McShane told the Creative Boom website that the effectiveness of email marketing can be improved through techniques such as customer segmentation.
She said that personalising messages leads to an increase in reading and click-through rates.
