Financial companies 'need to improve data management'

According to a report from Oracle which assessed data management
Meanwhile, only 26 per cent of those questioned said they were confident that their current IT system is capable of providing a full risk analysis for the business using its stored data.
Nazif Mohammed, an Oracle vice president, said: "Outdated or irrelevant data hinders effective decision-making and performance.
"Without complete visibility into the business, financial institutions will continue to be unable to react to market conditions as they occur."
Last month, Daragh O Brien, a spokesman for the International Association for Information and Data Quality, said that some of the fault for the global economic crisis could be blamed on poor decisions that were being made at financial institutions because of bad data quality
