SAP clients 'will use company's software-as-service products in future'

Jul 29 2010, 11:05 AM

Almost two-thirds of SAP clients have stated their intention to use the company's software-as-a-service products in future.

In a survey of 100 user organisations, it was also found that 49 per cent of those questioned plan to invest in such offerings in the next 12 to 18 months.

Reduced costs were cited by 35 per cent of respondents as the key benefit to software-as-a-service, with 32 per cent mentioning faster deployment times, reports the V3 website.

At the moment, only 17 per cent of the SAP customers questioned for the study are using software-as-a-service applications for critical business operations, suggesting the company still has growth potential in this area.

Earlier this month, Simon Dale, SAP regional vice president, told Reseller News that the company is confident of seeing an increase in demand for its business intelligence products in the New Zealand and Australian markets as more businesses realise the potential benefits.
