SAP has announced its new software-as-a-service application will be available from July 2010.
Its long-awaited BusinessByDesign offering is to be targeted at small to medium-sized businesses, the company's new co-chief executive Jim Hagemann Snabe said.
He added that SAP is targeting double-digit sales growth by 2012, helped by its new software-as-a-service offering and combined with a new way of doing business at the company, reports the Financial Times.
"We want to transform SAP into a lean organisation, doing more with fewer people," he said. "We want to unleash the creativity of our engineers."
Mr Snabe added that the software company wants to increase the speed with which it brings out new offerings.
According to a recent survey carried out by Kelton Research, the vast majority of companies which are using software-as-a-service solutions for customer relationship management are finding it to be helpful.
The study found that 93 per cent of respondents employing the technology declared its use to be a success at their business, reported TMCNet.
